About the Role
Mid‑Atlantic region. Hybrid work model requiring regular attendance at Mechanicsburg, PA office.
GFT is seeking a Senior Civil 3D/Site Designer to support a variety of projects in the Mid‑Atlantic region. The position offers opportunity to participate in planning, design, and construction administration of public and private projects, with clients typically in the northeast region. The role may require periodic travel within the region.
Responsibilities- Expertise in Autodesk Civil 3D, including point creation, 3D surface design modeling, site grading, alignments, pipe network profiles, corridor modeling, earthwork calculations, production plans, sheet sets, and construction documents.
- Prepare conceptual and detailed design drawings using Autodesk tools such as Civil 3D and AutoCAD, following company and client standards, processes, and protocols.
- Have interest or experience in Autodesk Revit design software and Esri ArcGIS Mapping Software.
- Work with CAD standards, XREFs, and data management systems; navigate and utilize online project document control systems (e.g., Project Wise, BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud).
- Collaborate in a team and interpret redline corrections from engineers.
- Prepare detailed design drawings for grading and site development, utility piping, including developing alignments, profiles, cross sections and details.
- Coordinate with other subject areas on multi‑discipline projects, including architectural, structural, and electrical.
- Work closely with staff engineers and other designers.
- Maintain project files/documentation including logs and quality control verifications.
- Meet established budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment.
- Participate in QA/QC processes and resolve redlines to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain quality control and assurance of CAD documents per company or client requirements.
- Associate’s degree in civil or site design/drafting program.
- 5+ years of related experience.
- Experience with site‑civil / water & wastewater / stormwater / erosion & sediment control design and utility routings.
- Knowledge of construction drawings.
- Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
- Functional experience with MS Office applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Project Managers and Engineers regarding project needs and design.
Salary range: $75,000 - $95,000, depending on experience and geographic location.
