** Position Summary*
* Kelly Services seeking a Temporary reliable and detail-oriented
** Shipper/Receiver I
** to support distribution center operations. This position is primarily focused on packing, material movement, shipping, receiving, inventory control, and accurate recordkeeping.
The ideal candidate has packing experience, basic computer skills, and the ability to read and write English. Forklift experience is not required, though SAP and manufacturing experience are a plus.
** Responsibilities*
* ** Receiving and Put-Away*
* + Load and unload trucks and work with common carriers.
+ Review bills of lading, packing lists, and incoming shipment documentation.
+ Check products against documentation for accuracy.
+ Sort and prepare products for storage.
+ Receive products into the inventory system using barcode scanners or computers.
+ Put materials away in the appropriate area or zone.
+ Assist with breaking down and handling floor-loaded containers.
** Picking*
* + Pick products for customer orders, manufacturing orders, and sample requests.
+ Use barcode scanners, pick tickets, shipping documents, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
+ Perform bin-location audits, unit-load transfers, and carton transfers.
+ Weigh or manually count products to fulfill orders accurately.
** Packing*
* + Review system instructions and ship sets to determine proper packaging requirements.
+ Perform special packaging as needed.
+ Print and apply customer-specific labels.
+ Follow established packaging specifications and procedures.
+ Identify hazardous or flammable materials and prepare shipments according to established guidelines.
** Shipping*
* + Prepare cartons and pallet loads for shipment.
+ Attach required shipping and carrier documentation.
+ Secure palletized shipments using stretch wrap or banding.
+ Generate manifests and bills of lading.
+ Verify carton counts against shipment records.
+ Coordinate carrier pickups when necessary.
+ Move cartons between pallets, carts, and conveyors using manual or electric pallet jacks.
** Physical Requirements*
* + Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
+ Occasionally lift materials weighing 51-75 pounds with mechanical assistance or team lifting.
+ Perform repetitive lifting and material-handling activities during 8-12-hour shifts.
+ Stand and walk on concrete floors for approximately 6-10 hours continuously.
+ Climb stairs and ladders to access elevated storage areas up to 30 feet high.
+ Operate or climb into the operator seats of powered industrial equipment, including order pickers and forklifts.
+ Maintain balance while operating elevated equipment.
+ Move materials from floor level to overhead storage locations using mechanical equipment.
+ Grip and handle objects of different sizes, weights, and shapes.
+ Maintain proper lifting technique by bending at the knees, keeping the back straight, and using the legs for power.
** Qualifications*
* + Previous packing experience required.
+ Basic computer proficiency required.
+ Ability to read and write English required.
+ SAP experience preferred.
+ Manufacturing or distribution center experience preferred.
+ Forklift experience is not required.
+ Ability to follow written procedures and safety requirements.
+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Reliable attendance and ability to work the assigned second-shift schedule.
** Work Environment*
* + Distribution center or warehouse environment.
+ Extended periods of standing and walking.
+ Work may involve elevated storage areas, powered material-handling equipment, and repetitive physical activity.
+ Must follow all safety, quality, environmental, and operational procedures.
