About the Position
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Gastroenterologist for a 30-day locum tenens assignment in Virginia, commencing on Jun 1, 2026. This vital role will involve 24-hour call shifts, focusing on a comprehensive range of critical procedures including esophageal dilatation, manometry, various advanced endoscopies, small bowel biopsies, colonoscopies, liver biopsies, and the insertion and management of specialized tubes, ensuring high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities and Duties
Esophageal Dilatation/Manometry
Esophageal Manometry Interpretation
Small Bowel Biopsy
Lower GI Endoscopy
Sigmoidoscopy
Colonoscopy
Liver Biopsy
Insertion/Management of Sengstaken/Blakemore Tube
Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
Upper GI Endoscopy: with Biopsy, with Foreign Body Removal, with Fulguration of Bleeder (Cautery vs. Laser), with Injection of Varices, with Banding of Varices, with ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography), Diagnostic, Therapeutic, with PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy)
On average 8 procedures per week: GSI, Hepatology, RGA, Surgery, Colon, Egd, ERCP
