About the Position
We’re seeking a  Board-Certified Gastroenterologist  for  urgent and upcoming locum call coverage  in  Mechanicsville, Virginia . This is a hospital-based opportunity offering predictable call schedules, strong procedural volume, and  top-tier compensation , including  comprehensive malpractice coverage and complimentary travel and lodging .

Position Highlights

Practice Setting:  Hospital-based call coverage

Patient Population:  Adult

Clinical Scope:  Inpatient, outpatient, and clinic coverage

Procedural Focus:  General GI, hepatology, ERCP, and advanced endoscopy

EMR:  Epic

Support Services:  Onsite lab and X-ray

Trauma Level:  None

Average volume includes  ~8 procedures per week  across GI, hepatology, surgery, colonoscopy, EGD, and ERCP.

Required Procedures

Colonoscopy & Sigmoidoscopy

Upper & Lower GI Endoscopy (diagnostic & therapeutic)

ERCP  (Required)

Esophageal dilation & manometry (including interpretation)

Liver biopsy & small bowel biopsy

EUS  (Preferred)

Variceal banding/injection, PEG placement

Sengstaken/Blakemore tube management

Submission Requirements

Board Certified Gastroenterology

Active  VA license

ERCP experience

Clean malpractice history

COVID vaccine
