About the Position
Join Our Prestigious Medical Team as a Locum - Physician - Gastroenterology in Mechanicsville, VA

Required Skills:
Valid medical license to practice in Virginia or be eligible for licensure
Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology
Proven experience with outpatient and hospital-based gastroenterological procedures
Expertise in esophageal dilatation and manometry, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), colonoscopy, ERCP, and related advanced procedures
Proficiency with Epic EMR or similar electronic health record systems
Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills
Ability to perform procedures accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced setting
Nice to Have
Skills:
Experience working in hospital call environments
Prior experience with liver biopsy and management of Sengstaken-Blakemore tubes
Familiarity with telemedicine or outpatient clinic workflows
Bilingual abilities to enhance patient communication
Preferred
Education and Experience:
MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
Minimum of 2 years' post-residency clinical experience in gastroenterology
Prior locum or hospital-based practice experience is advantageous but not mandatory
Other Requirements:
Availability for shifts in specified dates, including immediate start if possible
Willingness to handle 24-hour on-call responsibilities
Ability to obtain credentialing within approximately 90 days
Compliance with all hospital privileging, certification, and licensure standards
Travel and lodging reimbursement eligible based on assignments
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive hourly pay rate of $19.50
Weekly pay schedule via direct deposit
