We are currently looking for experienced physicians to provide expert care across hospital and outpatient settings in Mechanicsville, VA. Required Skills:

Board Certification or Eligibility in Gastroenterology

Proven experience with adult hospital and outpatient GI procedures

Proficiency in performing esophageal dilatation, manometry interpretation, small bowel biopsy, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, liver biopsy, and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)

Skilled in ERCP, PEG placement, and management of Sengstaken/Blakemore tubes

Strong knowledge of Epic EMR system

Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork abilities

Ability to manage a high-volume caseload (average 8 procedures per week)

Nice to Have

Skills:

Experience coordinating complex GI procedures involving foreign body removal and variceal banding

Prior work in hospital and office-based GI practices

Ability to adapt to varied clinical environments and emergent patient needs

Preferred

Education and Experience:

MD or DO from an accredited medical school

Current Virginia medical license or eligibility

Minimum of 2 years of gastroenterology clinical experience, preferably with hospital coverage

Other Requirements:

Availability for multiple open dates between March 2026 and January 2027, including weekend and holiday coverage as needed

Ability to complete credentialing within approximately 90 days

Willingness to provide 24-hour on-call coverage, including holidays

Travel and travel-related reimbursements (lodging capped at ~$150/night, standard bookings)
