VDOT is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer (Sr NE) to implement and provide support to the agency’s IT Network infrastructure. The Sr NE performs day-to-day activities related to the support and documentation of VDOT Network infrastructure.
Job Overview:VDOT is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer (Sr NE) to implement and provide support to the agency’s IT Network infrastructure. The Sr NE performs day-to-day activities related to the support, documentation,research, analysis, and implementation of VDOT Network related infrastructure.
Candidate must have in-depth, considerable knowledge andhands-on experience understanding, documenting, and maintaining Network related infrastructure.
RequirementsKey Responsibilities:
- Considerable knowledge and working experience with enterprise routers, switches, VPNconcentrators, firewalls, wireless access points, and load balancers (including the ability to document, set up, configure, upgrade, manage, and troubleshoot)
- Becapable of troubleshooting Network related infrastructure.
- Identifies and diagnoses system problems by using line monitors, diagnostic software, test equipment.
- Works closely with agency’s IT infrastructure suppliers and stakeholders to gather requirements, specifications, and configurations to assure they are accurate and up to date.
- Responsible for assisting in troubleshooting and resolving network issues impacting application performance and uptime.
- Assistin overseeing the installation, documentation, and upgrades of various agency facility data network infrastructure.
- Will oversee and collaborate with cloud and Dev Sec Ops teams to optimize hybrid connectivity and SDWAN configurations
