Senior Network Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer for a contract role in Mechanicsville, Virginia. This 6+ month position focuses on implementing and supporting enterprise IT network infrastructure, including day-to-day activities related to network support, configuration, and documentation.

• Support and maintain enterprise IT network infrastructure
• Document network infrastructure and configurations
• Set up, configure, upgrade, manage, and troubleshoot routers, switches, and wireless access points
• Design, install, and troubleshoot local-area and wide-area enterprise networks
• Monitor IT environments for compliance with information security, architecture policies, and standards
• Provide engineering and design support for networking infrastructure

• Required
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise routers, switches, VPN concentrators, firewalls, and wireless access points
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience setting up, configuring, upgrading, managing, and troubleshooting routers, switches, and wireless access points
  • 8+ years of demonstrated hands-on ability to design, install, and troubleshoot local-area and wide-area enterprise networks
  • 8+ years of direct hands-on engineering and design experience in the networking industry
  • 8+ years of in-depth experience designing, installing, and troubleshooting local-area and wide-area enterprise networks
  • 8+ years of experience monitoring IT environments for compliance with information security, architecture policies, and standards
  • Industry standard networking certification (example: Cisco CCNA, Juniper JNCIA-Junos, or equivalent)
