Maintenance Technician

The Church of the Redeemer, Mechanicsville, VA is seeking a part time (20 hours per week) Facilities Maintenance Technician.

This position is responsible for ongoing and preventative maintenance on equipment, buildings, and grounds of the Church of Redeemer. This position ensures there is an attractive, productive, and safe work environment for all people, including staff, visitors, and groups that meet in our Church. The Facilities Maintenance Technician manages and performs work necessary to maintain HVAC, security, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, remodeling, painting and special systems including repair of interior fixtures, furnishings, and equipment.

This position will focus on maintaining and improving system efficiencies with the result of reducing operational expenses. The qualified candidate shou9ld be a practicing Catholic, have a strong work ethic, take initiative, and possess a broad skill set in maintenance. The successful applicant must be capable of working collaboratively with colleagues and demonstrate a commitment to the Mission and Vision of the Church of the Redeemer

Requirements

• Has a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent with a Technical or Trade School Certificate or Associate Degree preferred in building/apartment maintenance.
• Professional License or certification is a plus.
• A valid state driver's license is required.
• Must have three to five years in maintenance upkeep and repair including some plumbing, carpentry, painting and electrical; ability to perform physical requirements; good organization and problem-solving skills.

This position is a limited part-time position, 20 hours per week with hours normally being 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday - Thursday. Hours will vary due to work demands and/or emergency situations. Occasional "on call" work and periodic evening and weekend work is required
