Purpose:
As a Fleet Refrigeration Technician, you will perform complex repairs on tractors, trailers, and yard tractors, identifying and monitoring problems to provide recommendations for repair or replacement.
Essential Functions:- Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, and general repairs
- Diagnose and repair air and hydraulic brake systems, including ABS
- Perform electrical diagnostics and repairs
- Repair liftgate systems and fabricate as needed
- Diagnose drive lines, steering, and suspensions
- Maintain accurate repair order entries and time accountability in the RTA Maintenance Program
- Charge all parts to repair orders
- Perform tire and wheel end maintenance
- Ensure quality work and production efficiency
- Assist and mentor junior mechanics to enhance their skills
- Complete other relevant duties as required
- Experience:
Preferred 2 years of mechanical experience or technical training with 1 year of experience - Tools:
Must have all necessary hand tools - Driving
Experience:
Preferred experience in driving/moving Class A equipment - Certifications:
Tire and wheel, brakes, HVAC, and FHWA DOT Inspections preferred
- Ability to repair brakes, rear doors, air systems, and electrical systems with minimal supervision
- Strong teamwork and independent work skills
- Valid driver’s license and must be 21 years of age or older
- Regularly required to stand, sit, and use hands for various tasks
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform repetitive movements
- Exposure to temperatures ranging from 20 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- Manual dexterity and coordination required for working at various heights and in confined spaces
