Pharmacy Technician (Trainee / Certified) - Onsite

Job Description

This onsite role involves preparing and processing prescription medications in a fast-paced pharmacy fulfillment center. You will use a fulfillment system to ensure accurate medication preparation, resolve insurance or prescription issues, and work closely with pharmacists, patients, and healthcare providers. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity ideal for newly certified pharmacy technicians looking to gain hands-on experience outside of retail.

Key Responsibilities

+ Prepare and process prescriptions using the fulfillment system

+ Enter patient and prescription data accurately

+ Resolve claim rejections and insurance billing issues

+ Handle inbound/outbound calls with patients and physicians

+ Escalate prescription-related questions to pharmacists

+ Support high-volume workflow in a fast-paced environment

+ Follow compliance, safety, and pharmacy procedures

Requirements

+ High school diploma or equivalent

+ Active Pharmacy Technician certification/license (must not expire within 90 days)

+ 6 months to 4 years of pharmacy experience (freshly certified candidates may be considered)

+ Strong data entry and communication skills

+ Ability to work on feet for long hours in a fast-paced setting

Nice to Have

+ Trainee license

+ Experience in fulfillment, warehouse or high-volume pharmacy settings

Work Environment

Onsite micro-fulfillment center with a fast-paced, assembly-line style workflow. This role requires standing for most of the shift and working at an assigned station.

This is a Contract position based out of Mechanicsville, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr.
