What You’ll DoEssential job functions:
- Install all types of carpet products including wall-to-wall carpet and stair runners
- Complete projects from demolition through final trim work
- Prepare subfloors and ensure proper installation foundation
- Represent company reputation through professional customer interaction
- Work with customers who trust the L&M name and reputation
- Maintain quality standards that consistently earn positive reviews
- Communicate project status with installation manager
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development
- Maintain company van, tools, and work environment
- Problem-solve field challenges to ensure timely project completion
- Handle residential remodels, new construction, and commercial projects
Required qualifications:
- 2+ years carpet installation experience preferred, or 3+ years general flooring experience
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to safely operate carpet installation tools
- Knowledge of general construction principles
- Ability to read layouts and blueprints
- Strong time management skills for project deadlines
- Professional appearance and customer service skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Provide reliable work references
- Lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Work on knees for extended periods
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
Bonus qualifications:
- Stair installation experience
- Commercial carpet experience
- Customer service background
- Construction trade certifications
- Ability to mentor apprentice installers
- Experience with specialty carpet products
