Freedom Fit Gym has been in business over 10 years and continues to be the go-to training and wellness facility for working adults in the Ashland/Mechanicsville/Glen Allen area. As some of our clients put it, we’re “like a halfway house between Strength Training and PT.”
We’re building a team of like-minded individuals with a passion for coaching, philanthropy, and small‑business. We are interested in a “career coaching” team. So if you are a recent Exercise Science graduate or recently Certified Personal Trainer who is interested in getting their foot in the door with a mentorship opportunity, this is the place.
No experience required, but certification is a must ! We have an on‑boarding internship and mentorship program for new coaches. Those without experience will be considered on a case‑by‑case basis.
Job Goals- Establish rapport with Freedom Fit Gym and its community
- Utilize networking opportunities to grow client base
- Build a training schedule for Trainer up to 30~ hours a week.
- On‑site skill‑building via shadowing, 1‑on‑1 research meetings, practical application review, and/or marketing brainstorming
- Begin community involvement initiatives; volunteering, promotion, events benefiting local non‑profits
- Establish a reputable online presence via written publications or Social Media utilization
Pay:
$18-25+ an hour depending on experience, and specific session type. We also pay hourly for misc. hours spent on time and tasks besides coaching. Coaches with 2 years+ experience can make more.
Qualifications- Applicants should be Certified Personal Trainers (CPT, minimum),
- or NSCA‑CSCS (preferred)
- or BS in Exercise Science w/ Certification.
For part‑time coaches, we are looking for at minimum, 12 hours a week availability, mornings before 1 pm, or evenings 3:30 pm and beyond.
Applicants with experience must be able to display working knowledge of basic exercises including, but not limited to—barbell and dumbbell usage, with a comfortable understanding of anatomy (joints), “pre‑hab” techniques and movement skills.
