Truck Driver: 2Nd Shift

Overview

We are currently offering a $2,500 sign-on bonus for Truck Driver new hires. $1,250 is payable after 90 days of employment, and the remaining $1,250 is payable after 180 days of employment. Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C., is hiring a Truck Driver in Richmond, Virginia for 2nd Shift
. The Truck Driver is responsible for transporting and delivering products to Carter Machinery facilities and customer locations over established routes. Seeking candidates with a minimum four years' experience driving a tractor trailer;
Valid CDL A licensure required; HAZMAT preferred;
High school diploma or equivalent, preferred;
Previous warehouse experience preferred.

• Transport and deliver products to Carter Machinery facilities and customer locations on established routes.

• CDL A licensure with proven tractor/trailer driving experience
• Must have an excellent driving record
• Thorough knowledge of DOT and Company safety standards and regulations and ability to conduct pre/post/periodic trip inspections to ensure safety and equipment is in good working order
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
• Mechanical aptitude
• Must be able to load, unload, and secure cargo for transport
• Must be able to meet delivery deadlines
• Must be able to work overtime additional hours as needed to meet customer demand
• Must be able to operate a forklift

Physical requirements include frequently sitting for extended periods of time. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally move and/or lift up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
