Warehouse Order Selector Mechanicsville, VA

In this fast‑paced role, you are responsible for accurately and efficiently pulling customer orders within the warehouse, palletizing orders, and ensuring they are placed in their correct assigned locations. You will operate motorized equipment, including electric pallet jacks, ensuring that you safely and accurately move product within the warehouse.

• Starting wage: $20.50 per hour
• $1.00 per hour for freezer environment (if applicable)

• Sunday plus 4 days during the week

• Must be 18 years or older
• Warehouse experience selecting is preferred but not required
• Lifting objects weighing 20 to 60 lbs consistently
• Occasionally pushing, reaching, pulling, and gripping
• Ability to work in various temperatures
• Available to work on Sundays

• Identify pick locations and safely pick items
• Inspect assigned equipment for safety issues
• Pick the correct item and quantity, checking UPCs or item descriptions
• Place labels on the side of the cases
• Perform shrink wraps and apply correct labeling
• Stage pallets in appropriate bay and build stable pallet
• Immediately inform supervisor or manager of any potential safety threats or policy violations; keep area clean
• Operate pallet jack/pushcart safely and efficiently
• Use good judgment when direct supervision may not be immediately available

• Warehouse/operations preferred but not required
• Understanding of WMS preferred but not required

• Understanding of safety guidelines
• Strong knowledge of applicable Bakco functions and RF systems

• Ability to select at established minimum rate for department
• Astute, close attention to detail
• Understand and properly follow all selecting procedures and verbal instructions in your respective area (grocery, repack, cooler/freezer)
• Possess an understanding of procedures in other areas of the warehouse for a global understanding of all processes

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
• Exposure to temperatures ranging from
  -20°F to 90°F in various operations
• Ability to perform repetitive arm, wrist, and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures
• Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and work in or under equipment
• Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance for work at ground level and high places
• Requires specific vision abilities (close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, focus adjustment)
