Schedule: Sunday through Thursday, 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Compensation: $60,000–$65,000 annually

Position Overview

A well-established distribution company is seeking an experienced Outbound Warehouse Supervisor to lead daily shipping operations at its Richmond facility.

This position is responsible for ensuring customer orders are picked, packed, staged, and shipped accurately and on schedule. The Outbound Warehouse Supervisor will lead warehouse associates, manage workflow and staffing, monitor performance metrics, and work closely with inventory, transportation, and customer service teams.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on warehouse leader who is comfortable working on the floor, coaching employees, resolving shipping issues, and maintaining accountability in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily outbound warehouse and shipping operations.
• Ensure orders are picked, packed, staged, loaded, and shipped accurately and on time.
• Assign work, monitor workflow, and adjust staffing based on order volume and operational priorities.
• Lead, train, coach, and develop outbound warehouse associates.
• Address attendance, performance, productivity, and quality concerns.
• Monitor outbound performance metrics, including order accuracy, on-time shipping, labor productivity, and quality.
• Troubleshoot shipping errors, delayed orders, inventory discrepancies, and workflow interruptions.
• Coordinate with inventory, transportation, customer service, and other internal departments.
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety requirements, operating procedures, and company policies.
• Maintain accurate shipping documentation, including bills of lading, manifests, and tracking records.
• Ensure proper use and basic care of forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners, and warehouse equipment.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve safety, accuracy, productivity, and workflow.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe outbound work area.

Qualifications

• At least three years of warehouse, distribution, fulfillment, or shipping experience.
• At least one year of leadership, team lead, or supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience leading hourly warehouse employees in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of outbound shipping, order picking, packing, staging, and loading processes.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems, RF scanners, and shipping software.
• Experience monitoring productivity, quality, attendance, and operational performance.
• Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and respond quickly to operational issues.
• Forklift experience or the ability to become certified.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
