Position: Course Assistant: College Prep 101 for Neurodivergent Students, Tufts Pre-College Programs

Overview

The Tufts Pre‑College team is seeking a Course Assistant to manage our 1‑week College Prep 101 for Neurodivergent Students program. This 5‑day experience helps neurodivergent students explore college life, understand options, and gain confidence about the next steps.

Time Commitment

The program runs Monday through Friday from June 22 to June 26, 2026, in‑person on the Tufts Medford campus. Fridays are 9 AM‑4 PM (7 hours per day). Program preparation requires 1‑2 hours per week before the start (remote). Program assistance is Monday‑Friday 9 AM‑5 PM during the week; additional hours may be agreed upon.

Compensation

Course Assistants will be paid $17–$20 per hour, based on experience, for all hours spent on program planning and implementation.

Responsibilities
  • Program Preparation
    • Materials: prepare and package program materials for participants.
    • Systems: set up Canvas, Zoom, and other required platforms.
    • Logistics: coordinate guest speakers, ceremonies, and field trips.
    • Training: complete all training requirements for the UC Pre‑College Programs.
  • Program Assistance
    • Participation: attend all events during the program.
    • Behavioral Modeling: serve as a positive adult role model, demonstrating professionalism and punctuality.
    • Student Support: monitor attendance, escort students to events, and assist with logistical concerns.
    • Instructor Support: provide AV assistance, distribute materials, and support instructors and guest speakers.
    • Evaluation: suggest improvements, hazards, and trends to the Program Lead.
Qualifications
  • Required
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer‑service skills (written and verbal).
    • Strong attention to detail and highly organized.
    • Adept critical thinking, process development, and operationalization.
  • Preferred
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, etc.
    • Project management experience.
    • Previous experience working with high‑school‑aged students.
