Teacher Assistant
The Eliot-Pearson Children's School is the laboratory-demonstration school affiliated with the Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Study and Human Development at Tufts University. The school serves as a model and demonstration facility, providing a training and observation site for new and experienced teachers and a research facility for faculty and supervised students in the Department of Child Study and Human Development. The Children's School enrolls approximately 65 children.
It has preschool and PreK-K and Kindergarten to first grade classes that vary in length and frequency.
The Teacher Assistant supports high quality, inclusive education and care for children in a preschool through first grade classroom. The position facilitates teaching and learning opportunities for children and families at the school and ensures their health and safety. The Teacher Assistant supports Head Teachers in working with children 4-6 years old and also fulfills a state required teacher-child ratio at the school.
- Assists teachers in curriculum planning and delivery
- Assists teachers in conducting ongoing observation and assessment of children's learning
- Assists with classroom management

Knowledge and experience typically acquired by:
- Associate's Degree Knowledge and experience typically acquired by an Associates' Degree and several years related experience
- Bachelor's Degree
Pay Range Minimum $19.35, Midpoint $22.60, Maximum $25.90 Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
