Job DescriptionProvide direct and consultative therapeutic services for preventative and interventive purposes in the school setting, under the supervision of a certified BCBA. The Behavior Specialist with appropriate training will design, implement and interpret the results of behavioral interventions. Working with the BCBA, the Behavior Specialist provides professional development to paraprofessional staff to carry out interventions.
Additional Requirements- Bachelors degree in related field
- Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst certification preferred
- At least 2 years related experience
- Develop/assist with individual behavior management programs for students in the classroom, home and or inclusion setting.
- Direct staff training and development around principles of ABA.
- Provide program/individual staff consultation on therapeutic staff design/implementation of BIPs.
- Participate in Team consultation meetings with classroom teachers/related service providers/paraprofessional staff.
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), Classroom Needs Assessments, and Home Needs Assessments
- Maintain daily intervention notes.
- Provide oversight of Individual Home Training programs.
- Address district/family questions or concerns regarding social-behavioral characteristics of student
- Alert Special Education Coordinator to issues/concerns regarding student progress
- Perform other duties as requested by the building principal, the Coordinator of Special Education, or the Director of Pupil Services, within the scope of job description.
Salary is in accordance with the Medford Paraprofessional Association
