Position OverviewThe Intake / Sales Department Manager leads and optimizes the firm’s intake and client conversion operations. This is a leadership role responsible for managing people, improving processes, driving conversion metrics, and ensuring every prospective client receives a professional, empathetic, and efficient experience.
You will oversee the intake/sales team, establish performance standards, refine scripts and workflows, and partner with marketing and legal teams to maximize signed cases and revenue quality.
- Lead, coach, and develop intake/sales staff
- Establish clear performance expectations and accountability
- Conduct regular training, call reviews, and feedback sessions
- Manage schedules, coverage, and staffing needs
- Monitor and improve lead-to-consultation and consultation-to-sign rates
- Refine sales scripts, objection handling, and follow‑up strategies
- Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions
- Ensure consistent, high‑quality client communication
- Build and maintain structured intake workflows
- Improve CRM usage, tracking, and data integrity
- Standardize procedures to reduce errors and missed opportunities
- Collaborate on automation and efficiency initiatives
- Track KPIs and produce regular performance reports
- Analyze data to drive decisions and improvements
- Hold team accountable to conversion and responsiveness targets
- Partner with marketing to align lead quality and messaging
- Coordinate with attorneys and legal teams on case fit and expectations
- Support firm growth initiatives and operational scaling
Required:
- Prior experience managing a sales, intake, or client‑facing team
- Strong leadership, coaching, and accountability skills
- Comfortable working with metrics, KPIs, and performance targets
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Highly organized and process‑oriented
Preferred:
- Experience in legal intake, professional services, or high‑volume sales environments
- CRM or pipeline management experience
- Ability to improve scripts, workflows, and systems
- Experience in fast‑growth or scaling organizations
