US Fabrication Operator

Founded in 1943 in Kent, Ohio, Hamilton Kent has grown to be a multinational manufacturer and distributor of resilient-rubber, watertight, sealing systems and components. Focusing primarily on seals for infrastructure pipe systems, we provide a complete package – from design and development, through production and testing, to warehousing and shipping.

This role is based in our facility in Winchester, Tennessee, and reports to our Production Manager. The successful candidate will operate and run machinery with the purpose of supporting efficient production as well as adhering to safety expectations. The hours for this position will be nights, Monday-Wednesday 7pm-7am.

• Operate and run machinery to support efficient production while adhering to safety expectations.
• Deal with production process issues and troubleshoot as they arise.
• Use a variety of tools and equipment such as tape splicing, automatic palletizer, hand tools, measuring tools and inspection gauges.
• Perform other duties as needed or assigned.

• Read and understand technical documentation and work instructions.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment in accordance with all safety policies and procedures.
• Follow quality procedures (e.g., pin holes, splicing, accurate count, shipping labels) and accurately fill out production records.
• Adhere to company ISO quality and production requirements.
• Working knowledge and ability to use micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauge pins, impact testing and pressure test equipment.
• Eager to learn, excited to work on a team, and possess good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift, pull, bend and stand for extended periods, lifting less than 25 lbs.

The person in this role spends almost 100% of their time in the plant environment, which will involve varying degrees of light to moderate physical labor. Requires good mobility and involves considerable lifting (less than 25 lbs.), pulling, bending, standing, and walking. Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat, and the use of share blades for cutting rubber. Incumbent will use standard protective equipment such as safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves and aprons.

Incumbent understands, respects and adheres to workplace Health & Safety rules and regulations, which are derived from the Occupational Health & Safety Act.

Pay starts at $17.56/hour.
