Development/Operations Coordinator (Part-Time) Tufts Hillel Role Overview
Tufts Hillel is seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative professional to join our team as the Development/Operations Coordinator
. This key team member will play a vital role in supporting the success of our $1M+ annual fund by managing essential behind-the-scenes operations that drive our fundraising efforts forward. Reporting jointly to the Director of Development and the Director of Operations & Finance, the Coordinator will contribute to the smooth execution of development initiatives, donor stewardship, and data management. The time allocated to various responsibilities of this role will vary based on peaks around holidays, events, donor meetings, and fundraising activities.
This is a year-round, hybrid position with a flexible schedule of 20-25 hours per week with estimated 80/20 split between development and operations.
- Maintain and update donor records in Salesforce, guaranteeing data accuracy
- Prepare and send weekly donor acknowledgement letters ensuring timely recognition
- Process financial transactions including payments, reimbursements, and donations
- Generate and compile fundraising reports to support strategic planning, donor stewardship, and performance tracking
- Provide staffing support across departments including scheduling meetings, coordinating external engagements, and assist with day-to-day administrative needs
- Manage office supplies and inventory including ordering, organizing, and tracking of materials
- Assist with planning, logistics, and execution of events
- Welcome and assist Tufts Hillel visitors (in person, by phone, and by email)
- General administrative duties for Tufts Hillel as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge and skills typically acquired through a bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to shifting priorities, and perform well under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication style
- Outstanding attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to take initiative as a self-starter with a proactive approach to tasks and problem-solving
- Willingness and availability to work occasional nights and weekends as needed for event support
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, the Jewish community and Jewish practices
- Familiarity with donor tracking and CRM relationship management tools
- Exposure to the nonprofit sector
