Plasma Center Nurse - LPN

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility and perform informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
• Manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results.
• Evaluate donor reactions at the facility and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including developing Center Physician standing orders and arranging donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Consult with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical findings that are unacceptable to donors.
• Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation by occupational health/ER, following EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS to investigate pandemic threats within the local community.

• High school diploma or equivalent; or graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
• Licensed or certified in the state of assignment: LPN or LVN.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Instructor in FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Minimum of two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
