Job Summary

Adecco is partnering with a respected regional CPA firm to identify an experienced Senior Accountant to join its growing public accounting team. This contract-to-hire opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys building trusted client relationships, solving complex accounting and tax challenges, and serving as a key contributor on client engagements.

The Senior Accountant will play a vital role in delivering tax, accounting, financial reporting, audit support, and advisory services to a diverse client base. Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review financial statements, account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end and year-end close activities for multiple client engagements.
  • Prepare and review individual, partnership, S-Corporation, C-Corporation, fiduciary, and multi-entity tax returns.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations while identifying potential tax planning opportunities.
  • Support audit, review, and compilation engagements, including workpaper preparation and financial statement disclosures.
  • Analyze accounting records and financial data to identify discrepancies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner directly with clients to provide accounting guidance, answer tax-related questions, and deliver exceptional client service.
  • Assist business owners and management teams with financial reporting, budgeting, and operational accounting matters.
  • Research accounting and tax issues while remaining current on changes to tax laws and GAAP requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures, financial reporting processes, and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with managers and partners to successfully execute client engagements and meet deadlines.
  • Mentor and support Staff Accountants by reviewing work and providing technical guidance.
  • Participate in special projects, client advisory engagements, and strategic planning initiatives.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of public accounting experience.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and business and individual tax returns.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Experience with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality client service.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • CPA license or active CPA candidate preferred.
  • Experience with audit, review, and compilation engagements.
  • Experience utilizing accounting and tax software such as:
  • CCH Pro System fx
  • Ultra Tax
  • Thomson Reuters
  • Quick Books
  • Drake Tax
  • Case Ware
  • Similar public accounting platforms
  • Prior experience mentoring junior accounting staff.
