Assistant Director - Lake Stockwell

Overview

The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting the Camp Director with administrative duties.

• Daily tasks include parent phone calls, staff management, camper behavior management, and weekly staff schedule.
• Assist Camp Director with daily operation of camp programs and developing and implementing schedule changes, risk management procedures, etc.
• Supervise and participate in all assigned aspects of the campers’ day which includes but is not limited to:
  Camper check-in and check-out; meal times; activities and extended am and extended pm duties as assigned.
• Attend and participate in two weeks of Administration Staff Training and General Staff Training.
• Conduct at least one written performance review with staff during the summer.

• The incumbent must be 20 years of age or older
• Knowledge in the daily operation of camp programs, including staff and camper supervision.
• Knowledge in safety, care of equipment and supplies, inventory, skill instructions and progressive age appropriate programming is required.
• The ability to teach songs, crafts, games, stories, sports, and related skills is preferred.
• Incumbent must show enthusiasm, dedication, responsibility and maturity and have the ability to interact and communicate clearly with campers, parents and staff.
• Bachelor’s of the Arts of Bachelor’s of Science in Recreation, Physical Education, Education or related field is preferred (or working toward degree).
