Overview

The Counselor-in-Training Director position is responsible for the planning, implementing and leading the Counselor in Training program for campers in a small group setting.

• Prepare, organize, and implement all aspects of the CIT program and is responsible for the general safety and supervision of campers in program.
• Educate CITs in the various positions of camp i.e. counselors, lifeguards, activity directors, day camp director, etc.
• Supervise and participate in all assigned aspects of the CITs day which includes but is not limited to: CIT check-in and check-out; meal times; activities and extended am and extended pm duties as assigned.
• Attend and participate in two weeks of Leadership Staff Training and General Staff Training.

• The incumbent must be 20 years of age or older.
• Ability to supervise and lead a group of campers in a small group setting.
• Possess leadership skills that can assist in encouraging and motivating campers.
• Ability to teach songs, crafts, games, stories, sports, and related skills is preferred.
• Incumbent must show enthusiasm, dedication, responsibility and maturity and have the ability to interact and communicate clearly with campers, parents and staff.
• Bachelor’s of the Arts of Bachelor’s of Science in Recreation, Physical Education, Education or related field is preferred (or working toward degree).
