The Medford Township Public Schools is seeking an enthusiastic and student-centered
Middle School Social Studies Teacher to inspire students through engaging, inquiry-based instruction aligned to New Jersey Student Learning Standards. The ideal candidate will design meaningful learning experiences that foster historical thinking, civic engagement, critical analysis, and an understanding of diverse cultures and perspectives while building strong relationships with students and families. Responsibilities include planning and delivering rigorous instruction in history, geography, civics, economics, and related social studies disciplines;
utilizing primary and secondary sources to promote inquiry and discussion; using assessment data to inform instruction; differentiating to meet the needs of diverse learners; integrating technology and current events into the curriculum; and collaborating with colleagues to support a positive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment.
This position is a long-term substitute position, hired through our hiring partner, ESS, and does not accrue seniority or tenure.

Other Requirements:The successful candidate must hold a valid New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE), whether it be CE, CEAS or Standard.
- Middle School with Subject Matter Specialization Grades 5-8 - Social Studies (2300), or
- Elementary School Teacher (1000) with prior Social Studies Teaching experience
