Public Works-Driver/Operator - Medford Township.
Is seeking a qualified individual for the full-time position of Driver / Operator. This position operates commercial vehicles, construction equipment, and specialized machinery in support of Public Works and water and wastewater utility operations.
Responsibilities- Safely operate dump trucks, loaders, backhoes, excavators, tractors, utility vehicles, and other Township equipment.
- Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report mechanical or safety concerns.
- Transport materials, equipment, supplies, and personnel to and from work sites.
- Support road maintenance, drainage, brush collection, utility construction, and water and wastewater field operations.
- Operate snowplows, spreaders, and related equipment during snow and ice operations.
- Perform routine equipment care, cleaning, lubrication, and minor maintenance.
- Assist with storm response, utility emergencies, traffic control, manual labor, and other Township operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience operating commercial vehicles, heavy equipment, or construction equipment.
- Ability to safely operate assigned vehicles and equipment and follow applicable traffic and safety requirements.
- Valid New Jersey Commercial Driver's License, Class B or higher, with air-brake qualification and a driving record acceptable to the Township.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather and emergency conditions.
Preferred:
Class A Commercial Driver's License, tanker endorsement, and prior municipal, construction, snow-removal, or utility-operations experience.
Schedule:
The position requires overtime and emergency response, including nights, weekends, and holidays, when necessary.
Employment may be contingent upon successful completion of applicable background, driving-record, physical, and drug-screening requirements.
$22.50 - $24.50 per hour
