Chembio Diagnostics is seeking a detail-oriented Production Technician I to join our manufacturing team in a temporary-to-permanent position. This role offers the opportunity to demonstrate your skills and performance with the potential to become a permanent employee.
Under direct supervision, the Production Technician I is responsible for preparing and applying components used in the manufacturing of Chembio diagnostic products while following established quality and regulatory standards.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare and apply buffers, test lines, control lines, and other components used in Chembio diagnostic products.
- Perform daily scale calibrations as required.
- Maintain accurate department documentation, including equipment, calibration, and production logs.
- Complete neat and accurate batch records as an operator or witness during manufacturing procedures.
- Operate production equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining equipment and work areas.
- Maintain a clean, organized production environment and restock materials as needed.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Comply with OSHA regulations and applicable USDA, FDA, and cGMP requirements.
- Identify and report deviations from established manufacturing processes.
- Support production goals while maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Work collaboratively with team members and other departments.
Experience with any of the following is a plus:
- Sample pad treatment
- Manufacturing in a regulated environment
- Associate degree in Biology or a related scientific field preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
- cGMP manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Manual dexterity required to perform repetitive production tasks.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
