The Ecommerce Planner is responsible for driving profitable sales through accurate demand forecasting, trend analysis, inventory management, and replenishment planning. This role partners closely with the Inventory Planning Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure product categories achieve budgeted goals while maximizing emerging sales opportunities.
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical expertise with business acumen and thrives in a fast-paced retail environment.
What You’ll DoDevelop and manage sales plans, demand projections, and inventory flow strategies
Create seasonal plans and sell-off strategies to optimize product turn
Analyze current trends and actual sales performance; revise in-season forecasts to drive profitability
Lead weekly and monthly inventory reviews, including receipt and inventory re‑forecasts
Manage supply requests and replenishment plans
Provide analytical insights including hindsight reporting and performance analysis
Identify opportunities beyond day-to-day business to maximize sales potential
Communicate plans, forecasts, and updates across merchandising and cross‑functional teams
Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in demand planning
Support additional projects and business initiatives as needed
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize large amounts of data
Ability to make informed decisions with limited information
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Cross‑functional collaboration and stakeholder influence skills
Comfort presenting to large groups and all levels of management
Initiative, curiosity, and a proactive approach to identifying business opportunities
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent planning experience required
5–7+ years of experience in retail merchandise planning, demand forecasting, inventory management, allocation, replenishment, financial planning, or financial analysis
Experience in assistant buying, allocation, or merchandising preferred
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required, with strong emphasis on Excel and Access
SAP, Snowflake, or SIGMA experience preferred
Strong retail math skills and understanding of demand planning and forecasting methodologies
Knowledge of sales and marketing principles for promoting and selling products
Understanding of business and management principles, including P&L management and coordination of resources
Knowledge of production processes, quality control, cost management, and distribution practices
Strong understanding of financial analysis and reporting
Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, statistics, and their applications
Understanding of customer service principles and quality standards
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Ability to synthesize large quantities of data to drive business decisions
Sound judgment and decision‑making skills, including the ability to make decisions with limited information
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong presentation skills; comfortable presenting to large groups and all levels of management
Ability to build collaborative partnerships cross‑functionally and influence key stakeholders
Effective time management and organizational skills
Ability to recognize potential issues (problem sensitivity) before escalation
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
