Role Description

The Registered Dental Hygienist is a full-time, on-site role based in Medford, OR. The hygienist will provide preventive and periodontal care, including dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, and patient education on oral hygiene. Daily responsibilities include reviewing medical histories, performing dental assessments, taking and documenting periodontal measurements, and collaborating with the dentist on treatment plans. The role also involves maintaining accurate clinical records, adhering to infection control protocols, and ensuring a comfortable, respectful experience for all patients.

The hygienist will be an active member of the care team, contributing to practice-wide quality and efficiency.

Qualifications
  • Strong clinical skills in dentistry and hygiene, with the ability to deliver thorough and gentle care.
  • Proficiency in dental care and dental prophylaxis, including routine cleanings and preventive treatments.
  • Experience managing and treating periodontal disease, with knowledge of appropriate therapeutic protocols.
  • Current Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in the state of Oregon, in good standing.
  • Knowledge of infection control standards, OSHA regulations, and best practices in a dental setting.
  • Effective communication and patient education skills, with a focus on building trust and promoting oral health.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with dental assistants, front office staff, and the dentist in a team-oriented environment.
  • Comfort using dental practice management software and digital charting; radiology certification preferred.
  • CPR/BLS certification and commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education.
