Job Details- Position Type: Locum tenens / per diem physician coverage
- Location: Medford, OR 97504 - Southern Oregon (Medford healthcare job)
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $4,840 - $5,190
- Start Date: June 1, 2026
- Coverage Duration: 3 weeks of coverage needed (June 2026 short-term assignment)
- Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts (Any)
- Coverage: 24-hour beeper call (7:00am-7:00am); provider not required onsite unless called in
- Estimated Onsite Time: 3 hours/day for in-person rounding if called in
- Response Time: Must be able to arrive onsite within 20-30 minutes when needed
- Unit Level: Level I Nursery (Neonatal / newborn inpatient care)
- Department Size: 8 beds
- Patient Encounters per Shift: 1
- Privileging Timeline: 90-120 days (timely application completion required)
- Licensure: Active Oregon medical license (or ability to obtain quickly)
- DEA: Active Oregon DEA
- Board Status: Board Certified or Board Eligible (within 5 years)
- Certifications: BLS and NRP required (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Clinical Skills/Competencies:
- Non-invasive ventilation management (Neo Puff)
- Newborn intubation (ETT/NT)
- Umbilical venous catheter (UVC) placement
- Needle pneumothorax decompression
- X-ray/chest image interpretation
- Provide beeper call coverage for newborn inpatient needs with prompt response when called in
- Round on and manage newborn patients, including care through discharge when appropriate
- Respond to emergency events for newborns as needed and perform required neonatal procedures
- Perform clinical interventions within scope and competency (e.g., newborn intubation, UVC placement, needle decompression)
- Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality neonatal and newborn care
- Adhere to unit guidelines, including gestational age parameters (no deliveries below 36 weeks)
