GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Dance Team Advisor advises and supervises all dance team activities during a year-long program.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

The Dance Team Advisor is responsible to the building principal.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The Dance Team Adviser supervises all the students involved in these activities.
  • The Advisor meets with dance team at scheduled practice sessions minimum of 2 per week/2 hours in length.
  • Supervises all money making activities, and is responsible for budget.
  • Accompanies students to all performances minimum of 10.
  • Attends one summer camp, if funds are available.
  • QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     MINIMUM SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    Knowledge:
  • Of a variety of money making projects and how to supervise them.
  • Of school rules and procedures concerning dance team activities.
  • Skills:
  • Ability to teach all components of dance.
  • Ability to produce dance performances.
  • Attitudes:
  • Willingness to give of his/her time.
  • Demonstrates patience and friendliness.
  • Maintains a good control over students.
  • Experience:
  • Experience in directing students is preferred.
  • At least one session at a drill-dance camp may be necessary.
