Soliant is seeking dedicated and professional Sign Language Interpreters for full-time, school-based openings in the Roseburg and Douglas County, Oregon area for the school year. Responsibilities:
• Provide sign language interpreting services for students in classroom and school-based settings.
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers.
• Support student access to educational instruction and school activities.
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and school personnel to support student success.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional standards in accordance with school policies.
• Assist in fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment.
Qualifications:
• Active Oregon Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) License or Certification required.
• Previous school-based interpreting experience preferred, but not required.
• Strong understanding of educational terminology and classroom environments.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families.
Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in American Sign Language, Interpretation, Deaf Studies, or related field preferred.
Skills:
• Strong receptive and expressive sign language interpreting abilities.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
• Passion for supporting student communication and accessibility.
