Environmental Specialist 2
We are seeking an Environmental Specialist to support power delivery projects across transmission, distribution, and substation programs in Oregon. This role will play a key part in ensuring environmental compliance, permitting, and regulatory alignment throughout the lifecycle of utility infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support environmental planning and permitting for transmission, distribution, and substation projects
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations (NEPA, ESA, Clean Water Act, etc.)
- Coordinate with internal engineering, construction, and project management teams
- Interface with regulatory agencies and stakeholders
- Conduct environmental field assessments and site inspections
- Prepare and review environmental documentation, reports, and permit applications
- Track and manage environmental commitments throughout project execution
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, or related field
3–10+ years of environmental experience supporting power delivery or infrastructure projects
Strong understanding of permitting and regulatory requirements in Oregon/PNW
Experience with transmission, distribution, or substation projects preferred
Ability to work in a field-based capacity with travel as needed
Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills
Preferred Experience:
NEPA documentation (EA/EIS)
Wetlands, wildlife, or cultural resource coordination
Experience supporting utility or EPC environments
Familiarity with Oregon-specific agencies (ODFW, DEQ, DSL, etc.)
