Stormwater Program Specialist
The City of Medford is looking for a Stormwater Program Specialist to join our Public Works Engineering team. This position is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a mix of technical work, fieldwork, environmental compliance, and working with others to solve problems.
In this role, you will help protect local water quality while supporting responsible development throughout the community. Your work may include reviewing plans and calculations, conducting inspections, coordinating stormwater compliance programs, responding to drainage concerns, and working with engineers, contractors, property owners, businesses, and partner agencies.
Qualifications- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Engineering Technician III must have at least four (4) years of engineering or related technical experience.
- Engineering Technician IV must have at least six (6) years of progressively responsible engineering technical experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, surveying, construction management, computer science, environmental science, or a specific area of study as deemed applicable may substitute for four (4) years of experience.
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the specialized duties of the position as described above.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license by date of hire.
- New employees establishing resident status in the State of Oregon must obtain an Oregon driver’s license within 30 days (ORS 807.020 (1)).
- Ability to maintain an acceptable driving record throughout employment.
- 8 hours daily, Monday - Friday.
This position is part of the AFSCME employee group. The City of Medford determines starting pay based on an evaluation of relevant education, experience, and qualifications as provided by the applicant in their application materials, alongside others who perform work of comparable character consistent with the Oregon Equal Pay Act. Six steps are included in this salary range, allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps.
- Additional pay, up to a maximum of 10%: 5% for a Master’s Degree, 5% for an FE or FS Certificate, Professional Engineer or LS, 5% for bilingual in Spanish.
