Job Details

Our esteemed health insurance organization is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Statutory Financial Accountant. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our finance department, ensuring our financial operations are compliant and efficient. You will be responsible for the preparation and analysis of statutory financial reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP, SAP, NAIC, DOI standards, and other regulatory requirements. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute significantly to our organization's financial health and strategic objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyze statutory financial reports in accordance with GAAP, SAP, NAIC, DOI, and other applicable regulatory standards.
  • Manage and maintain accurate and timely journal entries.
  • Conduct account reconciliations and rectify any discrepancies promptly.
  • Provide robust audit support, liaising with internal and external auditors as required.
  • Review and interpret financial statements, providing insights and recommendations to management.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
  • Continually assess and implement improvements to financial processes and controls.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and decision-making.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and changes in regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in statutory financial reporting, preferably within the healthcare industry.
  • Profound knowledge of GAAP, SAP, NAIC, DOI, and other regulatory standards.
  • Strong experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements.
  • Proficiency in managing journal entries and conducting account reconciliations.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing audit support.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong commitment to ethical practices and compliance with regulations.
