About the Role
Serves as the key commercial banking relationship for assigned commercial client relationship. Accountable for prospecting new business and working with a Commercial team to deepen client relationships. Maintains a trusted advisor role, engaging in dialogue with executive‑level client contacts to assess holistic banking needs and provide customized banking insights and solutions. Drives financial performance through profitable revenue, growth, and quality credit.
Generally supports a commercial portfolio of mid‑size commercial clients with varying levels of complexity.
- Identifies, attracts and secures new commercial relationships to grow the bank’s Commercial and Industrial (C&I) market share and achieves individual production goals for loans, deposits, and core fee income to support overall financial targets.
- Serves as a trusted advisor to clients, functioning as the commercial client “expert” in providing differentiating consult, ideas, and options. Champions and leads business development efforts by developing a clear, holistic understanding of the client’s or prospect’s business and industry and performs client reviews to ensure the bank delivers relevant solutions as clients grow and adapt.
- Develops focused strategies for acquiring, retaining, and growing select clients.
- Develops and maximizes an established referral network, proactively prospects for new clients, and identifies ways to expand existing relationships with team members and internal partners. Identifies opportunities and partners to structure, coordinate, and sponsor credit and non‑credit solutions.
- Leads a cross‑functional team to quickly respond to customer requests and identified needs, utilizing a team of experts to creatively present the bank’s full breadth of services.
- Maintains an active prospecting effort and pipeline for consistent production.
- Studies commercial industrial, economic, and financial situations related to new or existing business as part of prudent business development and portfolio management disciplines.
- Actively participates in community organizations to source business development opportunities.
- Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for the assigned function and applies designated responsibilities, acquiring knowledge through coursework and on‑the‑job training and staying current on regulation changes.
- Follows all bank policies, procedures, and compliance regulations, completing all required annual or job‑specific training.
- Maintains a working knowledge of the bank’s written policies on the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security, and other applicable regulations.
- May coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as a subject matter expert.
- Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Columbia corporate culture in all actions and words.
- Takes personal initiative and serves as a positive example for others to emulate.

- May perform other duties as assigned.
Education
Experience
- 7–10 years of relevant commercial banking experience and/or a proven track record of exceeding performance in developing business in the commercial industry. (Required)

Pay RangeThe pay range for this role is $93,000.00 to $.
The pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non‑discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance‑based incentive compensation, and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
