Key Responsibilities
  • Directly supervise and guide all therapy personnel in an assigned facility, including licensed, registered, certified therapists, assistants, aides, and students.
  • Daily scheduling for the department staff to meet the needs of the facility.
  • Provide direct care and work with supervisor to determine appropriate caseload in tandem with management responsibilities.
  • Assure that the rehabilitation needs of the residents are met.
  • Periodically review the therapy services offered and provide updates to meet the standards of the changing environment.
  • Represent the rehabilitation department during clinical meetings (PPS, Medicare).
  • Adhere to all regulatory standards as they pertain to the delivery of rehabilitation services.
  • Ensure that all clinical documentation is complete and timely, and accurately reflects the services provided.
  • Complete chart audits to ensure compliance as required.
  • Coordinate denials management activities of the department to ensure that claims are timely and/or appeals are timely and in accordance with company procedure.
  • Meet and/or exceed the productivity standards as established with supervisor.
  • Ensure that the services delivered are of the highest quality and meet all standards of practice.
  • Implement new treatment programs.
  • Monitor treatment programs for outcomes and adjust plans of care accordingly.
  • Assure that the department follows the established policies and procedures of the facility and the company.
  • Approve timecards and time worked by the department personnel.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an approved curriculum in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Language Pathology.
  • Must hold an active license in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Language Pathology in the State of Oregon.
  • Able to practice unencumbered.
  • In good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards.
  • Possess a minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience as a licensed therapist.
  • Working knowledge of Medicare and other payer sources.
  • Full knowledge of resident’s rights.
  • Exudes professionalism in presentation.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English.
  • CPR certification.
  • Must speak, read, and write English fluently.
  • Must have an active CPR/BLS certification.
