This essential role provides direct supervision to our billing staff (including Billing and Authorization Specialists) while ensuring established billing policies, compliance guidelines, and workflows are consistently followed.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on operational leader with an active working knowledge of medical billing processes, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance. We are looking for someone who can quickly assess daily workflows, identify operational efficiencies, and provide immediate training and coaching to the billing team. Direct experience in a Medicaid behavioral healthcare setting is highly preferred.

This position will also play a role in the organization's active transition to the Cantata Arize electronic health record (EHR) platform, assisting with billing-related configurations within the EHR and providing input to ensure workflows, system functionality, and daily reimbursement processes are effectively optimized.

Key Responsibilities

This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day claims management, authorizations, claims submission, payment posting, denials, and accounts receivable tracking. The Manager ensures that established billing policies, procedures, and workflows are consistently followed to achieve accuracy and timely reimbursement.

Working collaboratively with Finance, Clinical, and Operations departments, this position monitors workflows, identifies routine billing discrepancies, and coordinates follow-up on unpaid or denied claims. The Manager reviews routine revenue cycle reports to identify trends, prepares regular updates on billing activity for leadership, and assists with internal billing audits and corrective actions.
