Overview

Join the City of Medford’s IT team as a Systems Analyst, where you will be the driving force and subject matter expert behind our enterprise software solutions. In addition to providing support for the City’s third-party ERP systems, you will also manage projects related to the implementation and enhancement of new and existing systems.

You’ll work closely with other departments to ensure IT aligns with business needs and provide technical solutions for business processes. Complex problem-solving will be a core part of your day, requiring a highly analytical and self-motivated mindset to diagnose and resolve technical issues across a wide variety of systems.

Responsibilities
  • Drive and provide subject matter expertise behind enterprise software solutions, including management of projects related to implementation and enhancement of new and existing systems.
  • Provide support for the City’s third-party ERP systems and align IT with business needs.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues across a wide variety of systems through complex problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with other departments to deliver technical solutions for business processes.
Qualifications

Required

Education and Experience:

  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent; and
  • Six (6) years of experience with computer hardware and software support, database development and management.
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or other area of study as deemed applicable may substitute for two (2) years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in SQL scripting for querying databases, data analysis, and generating reports.
  • Prior experience with Cognos, Crystal Reports, and SSRS reporting tools.
  • Experience designing and developing data marts and data warehouses.
Schedule
  • Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Opportunity for alternate schedule:
    Teleworking may be available after the first 90 days (not guaranteed). Telework is granted based on merit and performance, at the discretion of the direct supervisor and department director.
Compensation & Benefits

Information: This position is part of the Non-Represented Group employee group.

The anticipated hiring range for the Systems Analyst position is $44.59 (first step) to $46.82 or $49.16 (second or third step). The City of Medford determines starting pay based on an evaluation of relevant education, experience, and qualifications as provided by the applicant in their application materials, alongside others who perform work of comparable character consistent with the Oregon Equal Pay Act.

Six steps are included in this salary range, allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps.
