- Administer community engagement and outreach activities for an assigned region
- Research and identify best practices and opportunities to engage members, community partners, and the public
- Act as a community liaison to services serving the same population
- Support and coordinate events, health fairs, workshops, and projects with community partners
- Foster relationships with community-based organizations and networks
- Identify partner information, resource, and technical assistance needs and connect partners to Care Oregon resources
- Develop and deliver education materials regarding OHP benefits and Care Oregon services
- Develop and implement public participation plans and outreach tools
- Maintain and monitor partner communication tools including databases, newsletters, emails, websites, and social media
- Coordinate community events and outreach initiatives with internal teams
- Serve as a subject matter expert in community dynamics and cross-cultural engagement
- Coordinate the ICN Community Based Organization Workgroup, including recruitment, facilitation, agenda planning, and documentation
- Liaise with external community stakeholders and report to the Community Health Partnership Director or other Care Oregon leadership
- Support implementation of the Community Health Improvement Plan, including research, reporting, and grant-funded programs
- Represent Care Oregon at community events, committees, workshops, conferences, and project-specific events
- Lead small improvement projects related to community engagement and partnerships
- Develop project plans, coordinate internal and external contributors, track project status, and communicate changes
- Collaborate across community organizations and internal departments
- Assist with contract development and related administration
- Perform work aligned with Care Oregon’s mission, values, equity, diversity, and inclusion commitments
- Travel outside the workplace at least weekly and perform other duties as needed
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in volunteer coordination, project coordination, or community outreach experience in non-profit organizations
- Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and automobile liability coverage or access to an insured vehicle
- Basic knowledge of project management and change management principles, methods, and techniques
- Understanding of consumer engagement and vulnerable populations, particularly communities of color
- Familiarity with community-based organization operations and services
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to conduct trainings and presentations
- Competency with Microsoft Office applications
- Proficiency with social media platforms
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse individuals and groups
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects and timelines
- Ability to use critical thinking in problem solving
- Ability to see, read, and perform repetitive finger and wrist movement for at least 6 hours/day
- Ability to hear and speak clearly for at least 3-6 hours/day
- Ability to occasionally work irregular hours, including evening meetings and weekend activities
- Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment background check, immunization review, and drug screen including THC/Marijuana
Demonstrates expertise in community engagement, outreach coordination, and project management, with a strong focus on fostering relationships with diverse community partners and stakeholders. Proficient in developing educational materials and implementing public participation plans to enhance community health initiatives.
