This exciting part-time Occupational Health Nurse role delivers immediate and intermediate medical treatment to Harry & David employees in Medford, Oregon, providing care to those who become ill or sustain work-related injuries. The position is central to promoting employee health and wellness, supporting injury prevention efforts, and minimizing lost time so employees can safely and effectively perform their jobs.
Success in this role requires strong clinical assessment skills, confidence in decision-making, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment. Currently structured as a relief position to cover scheduled vacations for the full-time nurse (averaging about six weeks per year), it also offers the potential for a full-time, long-term career in the Occupational Health field for those interested.
Major responsibilities of the position are listed below. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Other duties, assignments and specific projects may be assigned at the discretion of executive management.
- Evaluation, treatment and referral of injuries & illnesses both work and non-work related.
- Consult with medical providers to ensure work safety practices of those employees using prescribed medications while performing safety-sensitive job duties.
- Consultations and approval for employees returning to work with outstanding medical concerns.
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
- Partner with the HR Business Partners for a Workplace strategy
- Other duties as assigned.
- Constant mental and/or visual attention; the flow of work requires focused, detailed attention in an office environment.
- Varied Schedule - additional hours will be required as needed to support business needs.
- Must be able to work in warehouse and production environment, exposed to noise, dust, and varied temperatures. Typical conditions may include prolonged sitting, standing, and walking, and climbing stairs.
- The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; any disagreeable elements are generally absent during normal performance of the job.
- Must be able to carry up to 15lbs while responding in a timely manner to emergencies across campus.
