Job Summary
Fusion Medical Staffing is recruiting a travel RN for a 13‑week Med‑Surg / Telemetry assignment in Medford, Oregon. Duties will be performed on 12‑hour night shifts, 36 hours per week, starting ASAP. This is a travel nursing position.
Responsibilities- Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families, ensuring understanding.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments following nursing standards.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, document changes, and report concerns to the care team.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, assist physicians during treatments, and monitor responses.
- Maintain a safe, comfortable environment for post‑operative and medical‑surgical patients.
- Document all patient information, vital signs, medications, and care outcomes accurately.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans.
- Prioritize care based on acuity and clinical needs while managing multiple patients.
- Apply infection control practices, including hand hygiene and PPE use.
- Advocate for patient preferences and integrate them into care plans.
- Coordinate discharge planning, ensuring smooth transitions to home or other facilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- At least one year of recent Med‑Surg / Telemetry RN experience.
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification.
- NIHSS certification.
- ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification.
- Any additional certifications or licenses relevant to the position.
- Administer medications and treatments.
- Assess and document patient status.
- Assist with diagnostic procedures.
- Ensure a safe environment and infection control.
- Advocate for patient needs.
- Coordinate discharge planning.
- Perform duties in scope of practice.
- Maintain safety protocols.
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and interpersonal communication.
- Proficiency in writing, reading, and verbal communication in English.
- PC skills.
- Physical ability to move equipment (50-100 lbs) and maintain positions.
- Professionalism and effective collaboration with diverse staff.
- Fine motor skills for procedures and equipment use.
- Ability to cope with high‑pressure situations and irregular schedules.
- Good visual acuity and communication skills.
