Job DetailsWe are seeking a skilled ER RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Medford, Wisconsin. This role will provide high‑quality, rapid‑response patient care in a fast‑paced emergency department within a supportive clinical team.
Required Qualifications- One year of recent experience as an ER RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Current PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC Certification
- TNCC, NIHSS, CPI, NRP and SANE certifications
- Other certifications or licenses that may be required for this position
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) delivers rapid‑response, high‑quality patient care in a fast‑paced emergency department setting. The role involves assessing patient conditions, implementing urgent care plans, administering life‑saving treatments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient, patient‑centered care. The ER RN demonstrates strong clinical skills, exceptional critical thinking, excellent communication under pressure, and a commitment to patient safety and professional ethics.
EssentialWork Functions
- Rapidly assess and triage patients upon arrival, prioritizing care based on severity
- Explain emergency procedures and treatments to patients and families
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques and protocols
- Prepare equipment and aid physicians during emergency treatments and examinations
- Monitor patient comfort and safety throughout their stay, responding to immediate needs
- Observe and document patient conditions as required within scope of practice
- Take and monitor vital signs using clinical judgment to address deviations and prevent complications
- Respond to life‑saving situations based on nursing standards, policies, procedures and protocols
- Document comprehensive assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic medical records (EMR)
- Initiate patient education plans based on individualized needs, considering the acute nature of care
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, specialists, paramedics, social workers and other support staff
- Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines and regulatory standards
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
- Strong reading, writing and verbal communication in English
- Proficient computer skills
- Remain in a stationary position and move about as needed
- Move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) while maintaining a positive attitude and professionalism
- Ability to grasp and perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move during procedures and equipment use
- Cope with frequent contact with the general public while meeting deadlines under pressure
- Work under close supervision occasionally, and also independently when required
- Handle irregular activity schedules and maintain continuous concentration on detail
