Security Officer (Part-time, Variable Shift Position)

Receives general direction from the Security Manager, Supervisor or Lead Security Officer, performs a variety of security protective duties to protect patients, visitors, staff, physicians, property and facilities from accidents, bodily harm, fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. Enforces PH&S, facility and security policies and regulations. Investigates reports of potential criminal conduct against PH&S staff, visitors, staff and property; responds and assists in restraining patients;

detains individuals when necessary or at the direction of a police officer; and provides protective services to high-risk areas. Mobile positions will conduct vehicle and foot patrols, patient transports, site surveys, threat assessments, patient standbys, alarm/nuisance call response, special details and assist in training of clinic personnel. May be required to support any Providence or affiliated organizations within the Oregon Region.

• Oregon Private Security Armed/Unarmed Professional - Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training
• Oregon Private Security Unarmed Professional - Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training
• Valid Driver's License
• Private Security Temporary Work Permit PS-20
• 1 year experience using personal computer with standard Microsoft applications

• H.S. Diploma or GED
• Coursework/Training College level coursework in professionally related fields such as criminal justice, social work, psychology or any social science
• 1 year Security/law enforcement experience such as corrections, police, reserve and military police
• Direct patient care experience in a healthcare industry

$19.72 - $30.17 per hour. Additional compensation may be available for shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
