Pacifi Corp seeks a Substation Journeyman to construct, maintain and repair high-voltage substations supporting reliable electric service. Responsibilities include installing and testing breakers, transformers, relays and control systems; performing switching, grounding and clearances; troubleshooting equipment failures; and reading one-line diagrams and schematics. The role requires strict adherence to safety procedures, work in energized and outdoor environments, accurate documentation, teamwork with line and relay crews, and supporting grid modernization and renewable energy integration projects.
Responsibilities
- Construct, maintain and repair high-voltage substation equipment and structures.
- Install, test and commission breakers, transformers, switches, relays and control systems.
- Perform safe switching, grounding and clearances following utility procedures.
- Troubleshoot and repair substation equipment failures and power quality issues.
- Read and interpret one-line diagrams, schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Complete maintenance records, test reports and asset documentation accurately.
- Collaborate with line, relay and operations crews to support grid reliability.
- Follow all safety, lockout/tagout and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Support grid modernization and renewable energy integration projects.
- Participate in on-call, emergency response and planned outage work as needed.
