Main

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and ensure vehicles are safe for customers
  • Use Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
  • Perform preventative maintenance, such as tire replacement/rotation, lubrication and component replacement, some electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engines
  • Partner with your manager to learn new skills through Penske’s technician training and hands-on coaching
  • Take on other projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Pay: $24.00/Hour

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational/technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Problem-solving ability and comfort using tools
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and outdoors
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to understand and follow Penske instructions, guidelines, and safety policies (DOT, OSHA, and Penske standards)
  • Regular, predictable attendance essential
  • As driving Penske and customer vehicles is required, must maintain a current driver qualification file per role; includes annual MVR check, DOT Physical, and Safety History records. CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and FMCSA Clearinghouse review
  • Willingness to work the required schedule at the specified location, complete Penske employment application, pass background checks, drug screen, and DOT-required physical; potential travel for training

This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company. You must be able to work safely and take responsibility for your safety and the safety of others.

Physical Requirements
  • Move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods
  • Use hands to grasp, reach, handle, feel, and operate tools
  • Work safely at heights with ladders and elevated platforms
  • Work safely in all weather conditions
  • Vision and hearing adequate to navigate the work environment
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg); ability to push/pull tires exceeding 100 lbs
