Position: SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER - LTS, 1ST SEMESTER

Special Education Teacher – Lts, 1st Semester

The Rose Tree Media School District and Penncrest High School seek a student-centered Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs through individualized instruction, targeted interventions, and collaborative educational planning. The successful candidate designs and implements standards-aligned instruction that promotes academic growth, independence, self-advocacy, and meaningful participation in the general education environment. We are seeking an educator who works effectively with students, families, teachers, and related service providers to ensure that all students receive the support necessary to achieve their goals.

This long-term substitute position is available for the first semester of the 2026–2027 school year.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in special education or a related field.
  • Active and valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certification in Special Education.
  • Knowledge of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including development, implementation, progress monitoring, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver differentiated instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and support student growth.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support inclusive educational practices.
  • Experience implementing evidence-based instructional, behavioral, and organizational strategies to support student success.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience integrating technology and digital tools to support instruction, data collection, and student engagement.

Compensation:
Per Rtmea Contract

Starting Salary Range $68,300 (Bachelor's
- Step
1) to $84,300 (Master's
- Step
6)
