GENERAL SUMMARY: Delphinus Engineering is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer to support our customers with US Navy tasking. This position will support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) and Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) with various environmental projects related to US Navy Hull, Mechanical, & Electrical (HM&E) systems. Applicants should possess leadership skills in engineering design and implementation in environmental systems, have strong technical background in shipboard applications, and possess a strong experience in working in maritime and Naval programs.

Applicants must leverage past environmental systems experience into design, development, test, and life-cycle support for design, qualification, verification and validation testing, maintenance processes, Technical Manual development, drawings and schematics, logistics support systems and reliability support of shipboard equipment. Applicants should possess the ability to advise and lead teams, engage with customers, program sponsors, and end users, and communicate with professionals in other disciplines.

This position will deliver solutions to our Navy customers, and ensure Delphinus provides quality products and services to the fleet.

LOCATION: In proximity to Philadelphia, PA and/or Carderock, MD.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage customer needs and technical requirements, identifying priorities, conflicts, and opportunities for the optimal solutions on Navy systems.
  • Design waste management systems, Pollution Prevention Afloat (P2A) equipment advising engineering teams and customers on the benefits and drawbacks of various design decisions, incorporating best practices and leveraging past experience into future applications and sustainment of existing shipboard solutions.
  • Collaborate with customers and stakeholders on requirements and solutions for various environmental waste various aspects of the machinery and systems aboard US Navy vessels and at NSWCPD
  • Support existing systems delivered to the Navy and advise Navy personnel on strategies for upgrading, life cycle support, and maintenance of shipboard equipment and systems
  • Advise Navy teams on system design and development strategies, and optimize development, test, and fielding plans
  • Lead projects through the systems engineering process to generate, modify, and/pr review requirements and design specifications and assist with the Navy's systems engineering process for development and test of shipboard systems
  • Lead technical exchange meetings, mentor junior engineers, and provide technical oversight across teams.
  • Provide system-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis efforts for shipboard and test generated issues.
  • Ensure adherence to Navy and DoD Standards (NAVSEA Technical Manuals, MIL-STDs, program requirements).
  • Create and update technical documentation such as users' manuals, product specifications, and training materials
  • Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions using specialized test and diagnostic equipment such as network traffic analyzers, digital multi-meters, or oscilloscopes
  • Track issues identified in test or deployment to resolution through the product lifecycle
  • Participating in special projects as required
